I-SEAMORE’s end-users and technical partners met in Lisbon for a co-creation workshop !

Co-creation Workshop, 31st March 2023, Lisbon (Portugal) END-USERS (AEAT; Coast Guard; Marinha Portuguesa / UKBF) TECHNICAL PARTNERS (INOV; Primoco; Vortex-Colab; CS Group; ATOS; Thales, Terrasigna) Recently, in March 2023 a workshop was held to follow-up on the exploratory interviews conducted with end-users of maritime surveillance projects back in February. The workshop’s main objectives were to map the end-users’ needs, challenges, and resources related to maritime surveillance, collaboratively identify and/or create solutions and requirements to be implemented in the I-Seamore Ecosystem, and prioritize the identified needs and challenges based on their importance and urgency. The workshop was conducted collaboratively, with a group meeting between end-users and technical project partners. Various activities were carried out during the workshop, such as (sub)group discussions, brainstorming sessions, and breakout sessions. The purpose of these activities was to analyze problems, debate ideas, generate solutions, make decisions, and create plans. Participants were encouraged to actively engage in discussions, share their ideas and perspectives, and work together to develop solutions that met the needs of all stakeholders. The workshop used a variety of activities to capture key points and ideas from each discussion, organize and categorize them, and identify patterns and connections between them. The process aimed to synthesize and map out the discussions to generate a comprehensive understanding of the collective insights, perspectives, and ideas that emerged from the group discussions. A safe and enthusiastic atmosphere was created to ensure that the activities led to fruitful results. Participants were considered experts in their own experiences and were given a platform to voice their opinions. Special emphasis was dedicated to the specification of requirements and the identification of priorities. Overall, the workshop proved to be a success as it provided a collaborative space for end-users and technical project partners to work together and create solutions that met the needs of all stakeholders. The mapping of end-users’ needs, challenges, and resources related to maritime surveillance will inform decision-making, problem-solving, and action planning. The workshop’s key takeaways include the importance of creating a safe and enthusiastic atmosphere, encouraging active engagement in discussions, and using a variety of activities to capture key points and ideas.
