Synergies

I-SEAMORE collaborates with different EU projects, in order to promote effective communication and dissemination of project outcomes, findings, news, and activities.

We strive to foster synergies by sharing resources, expertise, and networks for communication efforts, thereby enhancing the visibility and awareness of all synergy projects among relevant communities and stakeholders.

These partnerships also facilitate joint participation in various conferences, events, workshops, and webinars!

Synergies

Flexicross

Flexible and Improved Border-Crossing Experience for Passengers and Authorities

CONNECTOR’s vision is to contribute to European Integrated Border Management (EIBM) and the EU Customs Action Plan by addressing the need for close cooperation between Customs, Border and Coast Guard Authorities in the context of the challenging environment of border control, both currently and in the future. This can be met by further involving Customs in the Common Information Sharing Environment (CISE) network and the Enhanced Common Information Sharing Environment (e-CISE). To meet this need, CONNECTOR is developing the Customs Extended Common Information Sharing Environment (CE-CISE).

ODYSSEUS

Unobtrusive Technologies for Secure and Seamless Border Crossing for Travel Facilitation

ODYSSEUS is a Horizon Europe funded project that aims to enhance the experience of border crossing for travellers and border authorities’ staff while keeping secure and tracking the movements across external water and land borders of the EU. This initiative aims to protect passengers’ fundamental rights while promoting the security and integrity of European space by minimising unauthorised cross-border movements of people and goods. ODYSSEUS also intends to optimise the safety of customs and supply chain by improving the prevention, detection, deterrence, and fight against crime involving goods flows across EU external border crossing points and through the supply chain, reducing disruption to trade flows.

Bag-intel

Intelligent system for improved efficiency and effectiveness of the customs control of passenger baggage from international flight arrivals

The main challenge for the customs operation is to re-identify the luggage after the passenger has picked it up from the carousel and proceeded toward the exit. And with the increase in the volume of passengers arriving by air at inland border airports, the need for increased efficiency of baggage customs control continues to grow. BAG-INTEL’s envisioned solution to support the customs teams in efficiently tackling such challenges will involve high-resolution cameras and robust AI, which will provide an end-to-end continuous reidentification of the luggage. The solution will help to ensure that all baggage is scanned and that the suspicious luggage is kept track of so that the customs staff can easily find it and manually inspect it.

Melchior

Mechanical impedance and multiphysics concealed and hidden objects interrogation

MELCHIOR is an EU funded Innovation Action project which aims to improve, mature and demonstrate the novel infrasound interrogation Z-MESMERISE technology in operational environments including border controls in airports and sea-ports and land borders as well as other environments where the technology would be quite useful like crowded events and prisons. In a nutshell, MELCHIOR aims to improve substantially a novel technology for fast detection of drugs, explosives, weapons and illicit goods concealed on individuals and in critical cavities of the human body based on infrasound mechanical impedance interrogation, optionally complemented with other harmless and non-contact technologies.

Meteor

Rapid, portable and reliable cargo screener - New concept of vapour screening technology - Ion Mobility Chemical Fingerprint Detector

METEOR (Rapid, Portable and Reliable Cargo Screener) is an EU-funded innovation project aimed at transforming how authorities detect illicit drugs and other threats hidden in cargo containers. The project is developing a breakthrough vapour screening technology based on ion mobility chemical fingerprinting, enabling rapid, non-intrusive detection of concealed substances at ports, borders, and other high-traffic logistics hubs. Unlike conventional detection systems, the METEOR analyser is designed to be portable, fast, and user-friendly, providing reliable results within minutes and without needing to open or unload containers.

Bes Cluster
I-SEAMORE is a proud member of the Border External Security Cluster (BES Cluster), an initiative coordinated by METICOS project

The BES Cluster consists of 20 projects collaborating in order to support each other, identify solutions to upcoming challenges, secure effective dissemination and valuable exploitation potentials and at the same time generate knowledge that along with the developed solutions will change the current state in the areas and fields that the projects are working upon.
